In April, Scottish climber Will Bosi ventured to Sintra, Portugal, for a bouldering expedition that showcased his prowess on some of the region’s most challenging routes. The highlight of Bosi’s trip was his successful second ascent of Mito V14 (8B+), a remarkable achievement that he managed to conquer in the sweltering Portuguese heat during his first session on the boulder. Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Bosi expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Super psyched to climb this amazing feature!”
During his time in Sintra, Bosi also made significant climbs such as repeating Pena Perpetua V13 and establishing Eye of Fire V12, his first first ascent in Portugal. Reflecting on Eye of Fire V12, Bosi described it as a thrilling challenge revolving around “two really hard moves, to and from a terrible mono with a ninja flick!” Despite uncertainty about the grade, Bosi estimated it to be around V12. Additionally, Bosi flashed two V10s, Twilight and Prison Break, showcasing his versatility and skill across different grades.
Throughout his trip, Bosi dedicated several days to a longstanding project in Sintra, describing it as the “king line project” of the area. Expressing his commitment to return, Bosi remarked, “Unfortunately I’m not sure when I’ll be back, but hopefully it won’t be too long.”
Bosi’s journey to Portugal followed his successful trip to Red Rock, Nevada, in February, where he achieved significant milestones including the repeat of Sleepwalker V15/16 and the second ascent of Return of the Sleepwalker V17, marking his third climb of this grade to date. Bosi’s adventures continue to highlight his dedication to pushing the limits of bouldering and exploring new challenges around the world.
