This year, South America is experiencing its snowiest start to the season in 30 years, promising an epic ski season. Early-season snowfall has been abundant, with multiple storms blanketing resorts in Chile and Argentina.
To capitalize on this, Chile will host several races from July to October. The season opener will be at El Colorado, featuring 2 FIS GS races on July 25th and 26th. These races are part of the Ford Chile Winter Series Visa, a snow sports circuit that includes disciplines such as Para Alpine, Cross Country, Ski, and Snowboard Cross.
The Chile Winter Series and the South American Cup circuit are excited to welcome athletes from around the globe. They will host a month of thrilling events, combining high-level competition with South American camaraderie and racing style.
Jorge Mandru, chief of the Chile Winter Series, expressed, “We are excited to open the 2024/2025 competitive season and to welcome athletes from South America and the world. These races provide a platform for athletes to prepare for the 2024/2025 season and experience the unique Cordillera de los Andes.” Last year, some of the top World Cup Teams competed here, enjoying world-class conditions.
The South American Cup circuit will continue with competitions in Chapelco (Argentina) and include seven stops at different ski resorts in Chile and Argentina, concluding in Corralco (Chile).
