Jeffrey’s Bay Surfing Competition: A Showcase of World-Class Talent

The prestigious Corona Open J Bay is back at Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay, running until June 23rd. This event, part of the World Surf League (WSL), features the world’s top surfing talent, promising a spectacle of intense competition and thrilling action.

WSL Regional Director Tash Mentasi highlights the event’s significance, stating, “We have our international athletes, former world champions, as well as surfing that has left a fantastic mark on Jeffrey’s Bay and Supertubes.”

The main event is structured as a two-round showdown, designed to bring out the best performances from all competitors. According to Mentasi, the event not only aims to draw crowds but also to showcase both local and international talent. “It’s an opportunity to be able to showcase our local talent and not just South Africans; we have representation from Mozambique and Morocco,” she adds.
